Single-Sided Aluminum-Base PCB

A single-sided aluminum-base PCB, the workhorse construction for LED lighting and other thermally constrained electronics. The aluminum substrate provides good thermal conductivity, mechanical rigidity, and corrosion resistance at a cost point well below copper-base alternatives, which is why it dominates high-volume LED bulb, panel, and signage production. A thin dielectric isolates the trace layer from the aluminum and conducts heat vertically into the chassis, eliminating the need for an external heatsink in most low-to-medium power designs. Single-layer routing keeps tooling and assembly cost predictable for very high-volume programs. Typical use in indoor and outdoor LED lamps, downlights, panel lights, automotive interior lighting, appliance backlights, smart-home modules, and a wide range of consumer and commercial luminaires where the design must combine adequate thermal margin with the lowest practical board cost.
