5oz Heavy Copper Board

A 4-layer heavy copper PCB with 5oz (175um) copper weight, engineered for high current carrying and thermal management in power electronics. At 5oz the conductor cross-section is roughly 5x a standard 1oz board, which lets a single trace carry tens of amps continuously without exceeding safe temperature rise. The thick copper also acts as a heat sink, distributing dissipation away from MOSFETs, diodes, and bus terminals so junction temperatures stay within derating limits. Etching and plating tolerances are tightened to maintain trace width accuracy after copper bath build-up, which preserves predictable resistance and inductance values. Typical use in DC-DC converters, EV battery management and traction systems, photovoltaic combiner boxes, welding power supplies, and industrial drives where the choice of 5oz copper is dictated by ampacity and thermal headroom rather than signal density.
