A standard FR-4 rigid PCB, the workhorse substrate that covers the bulk of mainstream electronic assembly. FR-4 is a woven glass fabric impregnated with epoxy resin, giving a balanced combination of mechanical strength, dielectric performance, flame retardance, and price. Plated through-holes, multilayer lamination, fine-line etching, and standard surface finishes—HASL, ENIG, OSP, immersion silver—are all well established on this material. Tg variants from 130°C to 180°C let the same family cover everything from low-cost consumer products through industrial and automotive interior electronics. Typical uses are consumer electronics motherboards, industrial control PCBs, telecom interface boards, instrumentation cards, IoT modules, and any product whose thermal, frequency, and power requirements do not demand specialty laminate.
